Good 2A Bills Need Your Support!
Good 2A bills need your support in the NH Senate this week!
On Tuesday March 10th, the Senate Judiciary Committee will be hearing testimony on two bills that support our 2nd Amendment rights.
House Bill 609
House Bill 609 – relative to the general court’s authority over the sale, purchase, ownership, use, possession, transportation, licensing, permitting, taxation, and other matter pertaining to firearms, stun guns, Tasers, pepper spray devices, knives and other self-defense tools.
This is a pre-emption bill that will stop cities, towns, municipalities etc., from making their own gun control laws and/or rules regarding self-defense tools.
This is incredibly important because we cannot have different laws/rules from town to town. This will cause law-abiding citizens to violate laws or mandates in one place that were perfectly acceptable in another place.
The gun control crowd has pushed, for many years, for school boards and towns to have the ability to make up their own gun control laws and/or rules. This bill will stop that from ever happening.
House Bill 1365
House Bill 1365 – relative to applications for licenses to carry a loaded pistol or revolver.
Since New Hampshire is actually a SHALL ISSUE state (meaning they are required to issue pistol/revolver licenses to those who meet the requirements without bias, discrimination, or discretion) there is no need to have any personal information such as employer or personal references on the pistol/revolver application or renewal forms. This also stops any forms from requiring any type of healthcare-related information.
Both HB 609 and HB 1365 passed out of the NH House. The next step is to get them through the Senate Judiciary Committee with a recommendation of ‘Ought To Pass.’
TAKE ACTION
What can you do? Show up to these gun control hearings. Arrive earlier than the 1:15 timeline so you can be sure to get a seat. The committee room isn’t very big, and they don’t allow ‘standing room.’ The hearings are at the State House building in Room 100.
