The Women’s Defense League will hold an Introduction to Rifle class on Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 9-1PM at Londonderry Fish and Game Club exclusively for League members.

The class will focus on semi-automatic rifles. Students will learn the basics of semi-automatic rifles as well as how they function. They will be taught rifle handling; safety; stance and proper loading/unloading in the classroom.

Range time will include shooting 15/22s from a bench rest position as well as a standing position. If students are interested, they will also be able to try an AR-15.

Classroom training will be provided by League certified NRA Instructors. Range time includes one-on-one instructor training with League instructors plus one male guest instructor (who has experience teaching many women about rifles).

This is not a NRA class so no certificate of completion is included. This is an introductory class for those who are interested in learning more about rifles. It is much like our New Shooters Shoot only it’s about rifles, not pistols, and it’s outside!

Responding to the Facebook event is not sufficient to reserve your spot. Class size is limited and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Walk-ins are not accepted.

Please arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to sign in and get situated. The class will start promptly at 9AM sharp.

We will provide the firearms and ammo and limited quantities of eye and ear protection; please bring your own eye/ear protection if you have it.

Please wear appropriate attire — closed-toe shoes and full-coverage shirts as hot brass can be very uncomfortable and present a safety hazard when it hits bare skin. Dress appropriately for the weather. The classroom is in a sheltered area, but the range is outdoors. A brimmed hat such as a baseball hat is recommended.

*Refund/Cancellation Policy* If the League must cancel an event due to weather or other issues, we will gladly issue a refund if you cannot make the re-scheduled class. Any cancellation by participants are not eligible for refunds.
