SUMMARY:Basic Pistol Class - Women Only Class - Women Only Instructors
DESCRIPTION:As part of our ongoing commitment to bring firearms education to Granite State women\, the Women’s Defense League of NH is pleased to announce that we are now offering ladies-only NRA Basic Pistol Classes! We are the only organization in the state that offers women-only classes entirely taught by women instructors and range support. \nOur upcoming class is on Saturday\,  June 8\, 2019 from 8:00am (starting promptly at 8:30am) to 5:00pm. It will be held at Londonderry Fish & Game at 5 Lund Street in Litchfield. Drive through the gates around to the metal building on the left. \nThe NRA Basic Pistol Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This course is a minimum of 8 hours and includes classroom instruction and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. This is an instructor-led program and is not a blended training course. \nStudents learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from a bench rest position and two-handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; pistol selection and storage; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will also complete live-fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range. A NRA Certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of this course. \nAll participants must prepay to reserve their seat. The fee for non-members is $85 and for League members it is $60. Go to this link below to pay prior to class day. Space is limited to 24 participants and spots will only be held for people who pre-pay. NOTE: These classes fill up extremely fast\, spots are reserved on a first-come\, first-serve basis!! \nhttps://wdlnh.org/services/basic-pistol-registration/ \nAll participants are also expected to complete a liability waiver prior to participation which will be made available at the event. \nParticipants should bring their own eye and ear protection (we have some available as well). Also bring beverages\, lunch and any snacks. Although the classroom instruction will take place in a heated space\, the range is outdoors so participants should dress accordingly. Please wear appropriate attire — closed-toe shoes and full-coverage shirts as hot brass can be very uncomfortable and present a safety hazard when it hits bare skin. A brimmed hat such as a baseball hat is recommended\, but not required. \nWearing layers and gloves as well in case it is cold is also helpful. \nThe Women’s Defense League will supply the firearms\, ammunition\, targets\, and student packets. \nIf you have any questions\, please email us at info@wdlnh.org. \n*Refund/Cancellation Policy* If the League must cancel an event due to weather or other issues\, we will gladly issue a refund if you cannot make the re-scheduled class. SUMMARY:Advanced Shooters Shoot - Class Cancelled
DESCRIPTION:**CLASS CANCELLED**\nWe will once again welcome the fantastic Al MacArthur Jr. to the Women’s Defense League to teach an Advanced Shooters Shoot. \nThe shoot will be held at Londonderry Fish & Game Club and will be focused on shooting from a holster. \nThis class is limited in size and will have certain requirements that need to be met – Shooters must be ready for this type of advanced class; they must have their own firearm and the proper holster (details will be added but no shoulder holsters or clip holsters are a couple of examples). \nShooters will provide their own ammunition and use their own firearms (the point is to get you used to shooting your own firearm from your own holster for self defense purposes). \nThere is no charge for this class. This is a MEMBERS ONLY class. \nYou must register\, when the event is open for registration\, with Cynthia at events@wdlnh.org. \nMore details will be provided when registration is open. \nNOTE: This is a women’s only class but the instructor is male. Al MacArthur Jr. is one of THE best firearm instructors in NH. He has taught hundreds of women and has volunteered with the Women’s Defense League for many advanced shooter classes.
