SUMMARY:Basic Pistol Class – Women Only Class with Women Only Instructors
DESCRIPTION:As part of our ongoing commitment to bring firearms education to Granite State women\, the Women’s Defense League of NH is pleased to announce that we are now offering ladies-only NRA Basic Pistol Classes! We are the only organization in the state that offers women-only classes entirely taught by women instructors and range support. \nOur upcoming class is on Saturday\,  April 13\, 2019 from 8:00am (starting promptly at 8:30am) to 5:00pm. It will be held at Londonderry Fish & Game at 5 Lund Street in Litchfield. Drive through the gates around to the metal building on the left. \nThe NRA Basic Pistol Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This course is a minimum of 8 hours and includes classroom instruction and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. This is an instructor-led program and is not a blended training course. \nStudents learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from a bench rest position and two-handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; pistol selection and storage; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will also complete live-fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range. A NRA Certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of this course. \nAll participants must prepay to reserve their seat. The fee for non-members is $85 and for League members it is $60. Go to this link below to pay prior to class day. Space is limited to 24 participants and spots will only be held for people who pre-pay. NOTE: These classes fill up extremely fast\, spots are reserved on a first-come\, first-serve basis!! \nhttps://wdlnh.org/services/basic-pistol-registration/ \nAll participants are also expected to complete a liability waiver prior to participation which will be made available at the event. \nParticipants should bring their own eye and ear protection (we have some available as well). Also bring beverages\, lunch and any snacks. Although the classroom instruction will take place in a heated space\, the range is outdoors so participants should dress accordingly. Please wear appropriate attire — closed-toe shoes and full-coverage shirts as hot brass can be very uncomfortable and present a safety hazard when it hits bare skin. A brimmed hat such as a baseball hat is recommended\, but not required. \nWearing layers and gloves as well in case it is cold is also helpful. \nThe Women’s Defense League will supply the firearms\, ammunition\, targets\, and student packets. \nIf you have any questions\, please email us at info@wdlnh.org. \n*Refund/Cancellation Policy* If the League must cancel an event due to weather or other issues\, we will gladly issue a refund if you cannot make the re-scheduled class. Now’s your chance to try some of the most popular handguns with our Instructors!\n\nYou’ll not only be able to ask questions of the owners of the firearms you’re trying but you’ll get to check the grip and slide and decide whether or not you want to shoot it! Then you can check the trigger pull and recoil!\n\nIt’s the perfect combination to test drive a firearm before going to a shop to buy it!\n\nThis is a Members Only event and will have limited capacity.  When the event is open for registration\, you must contact Cynthia at events@wdlnh.org to register\n\n

SUMMARY:Gun Control Hearings - NH Senate
DESCRIPTION:The destructive and draconian gun control bills that were passed in the House are going to be heard in the Senate!!!! \nWhen: Tuesday –  April 30th\nWhere: State House – Room 100\nSenate Judiciary Committee \n\nShow up at the hearings. You do not have to testify. You can sign in against these draconian gun control measures and show the senate that\, as always\, Granite Staters refuse to kowtow to out-of-state organizations seeking to harm their protected fundamental human right to self defense. \n9:00 AM – HB 109\, requiring background checks for private firearms sales AND transfers. This legislation will actually make it impossible for women to get gun safety training! This legislation will turn law-abiding citizens into criminals all while criminals continue to completely ignore existing laws! It’s the same exact California gun control legislation they have tried to pass 3 previous times. \nIt also creates a “register of each sale” (gun registry) which is expressly prohibited by federal law. For the record\, commercial firearm sales are already covered in existing statute. \n10:00 AM – HB 514\, imposing a waiting period between the purchase and delivery of a firearm! They want to make women LESS SAFE by forcing a 7 (really up to 11) day waiting period between the time of purchase of a firearm and the time of pickup of said firearm or ammunition!! Law Enforcement has no duty to protect us; we must be our own first responders. This bill inhibits women’s right to self defense. \nThis will effectively END all gun shows in New Hampshire (hurting small business) and once again\, harm all law-abiding citizens! \n11:00 AM – HB 564\, banning law-abiding citizens from carrying concealed firearms in a ‘safe school zone.’ Currently\, those who have pistol/revolver licenses are allowed\, per federal law\, to carry concealed on school grounds. CRIMINALS have never obeyed ‘gun free zone’ laws\, which is why schools are often targets.
