SUMMARY:NEWBIE SHOOT for MEMBERS ONLY Children
DESCRIPTION:Our next event is a NEWBIE SHOOT FOR KIDS at Londonderry Fish and Game in Litchfield on August 10\, 2019\, from  9am to 1pm. This “Newbie Shoot for Kids” class is intended for children to learn a basic introduction to firearms safety\, handling\, and shooting.  The class is a great starting point for learning safe handling and shooting skills\, by incorporating detailed classroom teaching\, hands-on drills\, and range instruction.  We have women NRA-certified instructors\, who will be one on one with your child\, and NRA-certified Range Safety Officers who will provide a safe environment. This class is limited in size to make sure we provide thorough instruction\, maximum range time\, and a safe experience. \nThe Newbie Shoot for Kids is open to League members’ children only (girls and boys)\, ages as young as 8 or 10 up to age 17.  Please use your discretion on whether you think your child is responsible enough to take this under their belt. Parents must be present with their child during the classroom instruction and out on the range. \nAll participants in our Newbie Shoot for Kids class will use a .22 caliber pistol and ammo that we provide.  We even have a couple of cricket rifles made especially for teaching children. This is to help new shooters become comfortable and build on success. We will also provide eye and ear protection for children who do not have any\, but we only have limited sets available for parents.  If you have your own\, please bring them for your child\, and for yourself. \nPlease wear appropriate attire — closed-toe shoes and full-coverage shirts. A brimmed hat such as a baseball hat is recommended\, but not required at this range. Hot brass can be very uncomfortable and present a safety hazard when it hits bare skin. Layers are smart when on the range. \nTO REGISTER — ALL participants must complete these steps — \n1) Email events@wdlnh.org and we will send a confirmation email. \n2) You will receive the appropriate link only *after* you email; There is such demand for our program that this helps us manage the registration process. Payment must be received to hold your child’s seat. The cost for this class is $20. \nOnce at the class\, both parent and child will be required to sign a liability waiver to participate. \nPlease arrive promptly to the class\, but no later than  8:45 am. We reserve the ability to decline late-arriving participants. \n*Refund/Cancellation Policy* If the League must cancel an event due to weather or other issues\, we will gladly issue a refund if you cannot make the re-scheduled class. Any cancellation by participants are not eligible for refunds.

SUMMARY:Advanced Shooters Shoot - Class Cancelled
DESCRIPTION:**CLASS CANCELLED**\nWe will once again welcome the fantastic Al MacArthur Jr. to the Women’s Defense League to teach an Advanced Shooters Shoot. \nThe shoot will be held at Londonderry Fish & Game Club and will be focused on shooting from a holster. \nThis class is limited in size and will have certain requirements that need to be met – Shooters must be ready for this type of advanced class; they must have their own firearm and the proper holster (details will be added but no shoulder holsters or clip holsters are a couple of examples). \nShooters will provide their own ammunition and use their own firearms (the point is to get you used to shooting your own firearm from your own holster for self defense purposes). \nThere is no charge for this class. This is a MEMBERS ONLY class. \nYou must register\, when the event is open for registration\, with Cynthia at events@wdlnh.org. \nMore details will be provided when registration is open. \nNOTE: This is a women’s only class but the instructor is male. Al MacArthur Jr. is one of THE best firearm instructors in NH. He has taught hundreds of women and has volunteered with the Women’s Defense League for many advanced shooter classes.

Now’s your chance to try some of the most popular handguns with our Instructors!\n\nYou’ll not only be able to ask questions of the owners of the firearms you’re trying but you’ll get to check the grip and slide and decide whether or not you want to shoot it! DESCRIPTION:You shoot ’em\, you should know how to clean ’em!!! \nThis class will bring you through how to take apart your firearm\, clean it properly and then put it back together! \nAlthough there is no cost for this workshop\, we ask attendees to do the following:\n— Bring your own pistol or revolver (no long arms!) and a hard copy of the manual. Most firearms manufacturers have manuals available online if you need to print one out.\n— You should be comfortable with the disassembly and reassembly of your equipment.\n— If you don’t have a firearm\, we will clean the League’s equipment.\n— Bring your own supplies including towels\, swabs\, cleaning products\, and lubricants. Because ventilation may be an issue\, please do not bring sprays.\n— Do not bring ammo as this is *not* a shooting event and it is not allowed in the classroom. \nPlease register with Cynthia at events@wdlnh.org as class size is limited.

Rather than grabbing a number from a hat for the Yankee Swap\, members shoot at snowman targets (the snowman is pointing a firearm at you!). DESCRIPTION:The Range Safety Officer (RS)) course content consists of RSO’s roles and responsibilities\, range standard operating procedures\, range inspection and range rules\, firearm stoppages and malfunctions\, and Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency. RSO’s who have successfully completed the course then have the ability to become a Chief Range Safety Officer\, someone essential to training and supervising NRA Range Safety Officers and developing range standard operating procedures. \nThe class normally costs around $125 but because we want to train women to help The League during our shoots\, we are only charging $25 to cover cost and shipping of RSO manuals. \nThe class is a full day. We’re holding it on Saturday\, June 2nd from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM at Wilson Hill Pistol Club. There will be no shooting during this class. DESCRIPTION:***THIS CLASS IS FULL*** \nThe Advanced Shooters Shoot is for members only who have the skills to train in an advanced range setting such as a Concealed Carry class with shooting from a holster. \nShooters will be brought onto the range; one at a time\, will be faced with multiple targets and “no shoot” obstacles. When not on the range\, students will have the opportunity to work with an interactive simulator. It’s going to be a fun and informative event. \nThe event is being taught by our friend and multi-discipline instructor\, Al MacArthur\, Jr. \nEQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Attendees must bring their own firearm\, a sturdy\, non-collapsing\, holster which is worn outside the pants\, a minimum of 2 magazines\, 100 rounds of ammunition\, eye & ear protection and a baseball hat. As always\, wear the appropriate attire. Must have attended a New Shooter Class or Basic Pistol Class. \nThe class is intended as a more advanced class; women who already have rock solid safe handling skills and fully comfortable with their firearm. \nPlease arrive promptly (12:30 to get signed in\, bathroom\, etc) so that we may start the class at 1 pm. As the meeting gets closer\, we’ll send out updates! \nFor those interested\, the Board Meeting will start at 5pm and all members are welcome to attend.
