SUMMARY:New Shooters Shoot - Women Only Environment
DESCRIPTION:New Shooters Shoot – for women who have never touched a firearm or those who want a quick refresher class on safety and shooting. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe have NRA-certified instructors and NRA-certified Range Safety Officers to provide a safe environment. We are the first\, and one of the only women-only shooting environments in New Hampshire! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe New Shooters Intro Classes are open to League members and guests. All non-members are required to pre-register as a Student for a Day for a fee of $25 which can be used towards a membership if you choose. Walk-ins are not accepted. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll participants in our New Shooters Intro Class will use a .22 caliber pistol and ammo that we provide. It will be held at Londonderry Fish & Game at 5 Lund Street in Litchfield. Drive through the gates around to the metal building on the left. \nThe NRA Basic Pistol Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This course is a minimum of 8 hours and includes classroom instruction and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. This is an instructor-led program and is not a blended training course. \nStudents learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from a bench rest position and two-handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; pistol selection and storage; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will also complete live-fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range. A NRA Certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of this course. \nAll participants must prepay to reserve their seat. The fee for non-members is $85 and for League members it is $60. Go to this link below to pay prior to class day. Space is limited to 24 participants and spots will only be held for people who pre-pay. NOTE: These classes fill up extremely fast\, spots are reserved on a first-come\, first-serve basis!! \nAll participants are also expected to complete a liability waiver prior to participation which will be made available at the event. \nParticipants should bring their own eye and ear protection (we have some available as well). SUMMARY:Intro to Rifle Class - *CLASS IS FULL*
DESCRIPTION:***CLASS IS FULL*** \nWe’ll be holding another in October and possibly sooner given the demand! \nThe Women’s Defense League will hold an Introduction to Rifle class on Saturday\, May 18\, 2019 from 9:30-2:00PM at Londonderry Fish and Game Club. \nThe class will focus on semi-automatic rifles. Students will learn the basics of semi-automatic rifles as well as how they function. They will be taught rifle handling; safety; stance and proper loading/unloading in the classroom. \nRange time will include shooting 15/22s from a bench rest position as well as a standing position. If students are interested\, they will also be able to try a larger caliber rifle. \nClassroom training will be provided by League certified NRA Instructors. Range time includes one-on-one instructor training with League instructors. \nThis is not a NRA class so no certificate of completion is included. This is an introductory class for those who are interested in learning more about rifles. It is much like our New Shooters Shoot only it’s about rifles\, not pistols\, and it’s outside! \nTo register\, email Cynthia at events@wdlnh.org who will then provide further details and a link for payment. The cost of this class is $25 for members and $30 for non-members to help with the cost of ammunition. Responding to the Facebook event is not sufficient to reserve your spot. Class size is limited and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Walk-ins are not accepted. \nPlease arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 to sign in and get situated. The class will start promptly at 10AM sharp. \nWe will provide the firearms and ammo and limited quantities of eye and ear protection; please bring your own eye/ear protection if you have it. \nPlease wear appropriate attire — closed-toe shoes and full-coverage shirts as hot brass can be very uncomfortable and present a safety hazard when it hits bare skin. Dress appropriately for the weather. It will be held at Londonderry Fish & Game at 5 Lund Street in Litchfield. Drive through the gates around to the metal building on the left. \nThe NRA Basic Pistol Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA affiliation. This course is a minimum of 8 hours and includes classroom instruction and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. This is an instructor-led program and is not a blended training course. \nStudents learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from a bench rest position and two-handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; pistol selection and storage; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will also complete live-fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range. A NRA Certificate will be issued upon satisfactory completion of this course. \nAll participants must prepay to reserve their seat. The fee for non-members is $85 and for League members it is $60. SUMMARY:RSO Class - MEMBERS ONLY
DESCRIPTION:The Range Safety Officer (RS)) course content consists of RSO’s roles and responsibilities\, range standard operating procedures\, range inspection and range rules\, firearm stoppages and malfunctions\, and Range Safety Briefings which include procedures to follow in the case of an emergency. RSO’s who have successfully completed the course then have the ability to become a Chief Range Safety Officer\, someone essential to training and supervising NRA Range Safety Officers and developing range standard operating procedures. \nThe class normally costs around $125 but because we want to train women to help The League during our shoots\, we are only charging $25 to cover cost and shipping of RSO manuals. \nThe class is a full day. We’re holding it on Saturday\, June 2nd from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM at Wilson Hill Pistol Club. There will be no shooting during this class.
