SUMMARY:NEWBIE SHOOT for MEMBERS ONLY Children
DESCRIPTION:Our next event is a NEWBIE SHOOT FOR KIDS at Londonderry Fish and Game in Litchfield on August 10\, 2019\, from  9am to 1pm. This “Newbie Shoot for Kids” class is intended for children to learn a basic introduction to firearms safety\, handling\, and shooting.  The class is a great starting point for learning safe handling and shooting skills\, by incorporating detailed classroom teaching\, hands-on drills\, and range instruction.  We have women NRA-certified instructors\, who will be one on one with your child\, and NRA-certified Range Safety Officers who will provide a safe environment. This class is limited in size to make sure we provide thorough instruction\, maximum range time\, and a safe experience. \nThe Newbie Shoot for Kids is open to League members’ children only (girls and boys)\, ages as young as 8 or 10 up to age 17.  Please use your discretion on whether you think your child is responsible enough to take this under their belt. Parents must be present with their child during the classroom instruction and out on the range. \nAll participants in our Newbie Shoot for Kids class will use a .22 caliber pistol and ammo that we provide.  We even have a couple of cricket rifles made especially for teaching children. This is to help new shooters become comfortable and build on success. We will also provide eye and ear protection for children who do not have any\, but we only have limited sets available for parents.  If you have your own\, please bring them for your child\, and for yourself. \nPlease wear appropriate attire — closed-toe shoes and full-coverage shirts. A brimmed hat such as a baseball hat is recommended\, but not required at this range. Hot brass can be very uncomfortable and present a safety hazard when it hits bare skin. Layers are smart when on the range. \nTO REGISTER — ALL participants must complete these steps — \n1) Email events@wdlnh.org and we will send a confirmation email. \n2) You will receive the appropriate link only *after* you email; There is such demand for our program that this helps us manage the registration process. Payment must be received to hold your child’s seat. The cost for this class is $20. \nOnce at the class\, both parent and child will be required to sign a liability waiver to participate. \nPlease arrive promptly to the class\, but no later than  8:45 am. We reserve the ability to decline late-arriving participants. \n*Refund/Cancellation Policy* If the League must cancel an event due to weather or other issues\, we will gladly issue a refund if you cannot make the re-scheduled class. Any cancellation by participants are not eligible for refunds.
